On my way to work this morning, I heard the usual screeching of the cockatoos. Not only are they noisy as all hell, the mess they make when playing on/eating parts of trees is incredible. But it's all worth it because they are so pretty and have so much character.

What kind of tree is that white segmented looking tree?
sweet, you've got these birds just living out in the wild. right now, we're almost in spring and we're doing the robin thing. not as pretty but exciting to see spring come back.
I've seen the white cockeys and the pinks but the blacks are new to me. So pretty. I could watch and listen to cockatoos for hours. They're so much fun. I just love the beautiful Aussie birds. We've had quite a variety at our feeders lately...even a male and female cardinal the other day. It's a real treat to see the bright splash of their red feathers against the snow. We are color deprived in the winter.
