My sister has started something

When my sister visited a couple of months ago, she was very much into looking at houses for sale and visiting open houses and such. This has rubbed off on me and, though I'll not be in the housing market in this lifetime (will house prices ever drop??), whenever I see a sign saying "Open House," I take a look. Yesterday I saw such a sign and took a look inside and was quite impressed. The agent then sent me to another open house around the corner. I saw this one and fell in love. It is EXACTLY me. It is adorable. It is here. Does anyone have a spare $350,000??? There are pictures on Flick (I uploaded until my quota was reached, so there are more pictures but I'll have to upload them next month - blame me for being cheap and just going for the free Flickr account) as well as some on the website, but they only go a small way to explaing why I adore this place so much. So yeah, if you've the dollars, let me know and I'll send you my details and a big thank you :)

The house is so cozy and I can just imagine you living in it. Were those orange trees I saw because I love oranges. If there is a fig tree (the fruit) out back somewhere, that home is perfect.

Yes, Sandy. Oranges right outside the kitchen window. Not sure about the figs, but a tree could be easily planted. Sigh. I'll just have to keep on dreaming...

Haha!! $350,000!
Ehem, sorry, its just that I'm used to Sydney prices and $350,000 would just about buy you a cardboard box on the side of a busy highway!
It's a beautiful place though ... good luck with that money donation ;)

I know - $350,000 is nothing compared to elsewhere. Which just makes me more depressed that I can't afford it... And won't anytime soon, according to todays news :(

I too love going to open houses, and might be something I take up when my retiree's life isn't so hectic! You can get some really good decorating ideas (OR feel really superior!). It does look wonderful though.

Tanya, you've caught the Townsville passion for old Queenslanders. West End, is it?

Tanya, I can just see your name written all over that house - metaphorically speaking.

It is just perfectly gorgeous. How many bedrooms does it have? I love the verandas. You know I'm a veranda person.

I wish I had a money tree and then I would pluck some of the fruit for you.
