Hmmm...
Nothing to talk about today. Except...
I made some microwave popcorn about a week ago. Anyone have any suggestion of how to get rid of the popcorn smell that emanates from the microwave each time I open the door?
Oh, and here is the latest garage sale find. From this:

Very nice yard sale find and what shade of red did you paint the chest of drawers? I like it!
I don't have a clue about the popcorn smell...perhaps just putting a cup of water and heating it might help.
Great find and restoration job!
You knew you wanted to post the photo of your great new chest of drawers, but you were just a bit shy .... lol. Looks like a great job and wonderful colour.
Sara bought a cupboard at a garage sale that she and Michelle just happened to drive past. She wants to repaint, etc. Will be interesting to see what she comes up with. I think she'll spend more on paints than on the cupboard, but it will be good for her to do it.
I did too. The drawers cost me $2 (actually $1.95 because I found 5c in a drawer). And the paint stripper and paint and drawer handles and spray paint for them cost me about $30. And I'm thinking I want to do the paint splatter thing on the drawers still - so this may be a work in progress.
I would try washing out the inside of the microwave with a solution of vanilla and water and then leave an open saucer of bicarb soda in the oven for a while. Bicarb works in getting rid of odours from the fridge so I would imagine it would work similarly with your microwave oven. Hope this helps.
Wow, I love what you did with the dresser...what a wonderful colour!! Just goes to show what you can do with stuff that people are trying to throw away!!
What a rich red that is - lovely.
Re the popcorn smell: throw out the microwave! Heh heh.
Now how did we know that that would be Val's response to the microwave problem?....ha,ha. Val, you are SO predictable.
Tanya, Ross says the chest of drawers looks absolutely gorgeous (and I agree), but, he says....please, no paint splatters! I have to agree with that too. I think you'd spoil it. That really is a lovely shade of red. What a bargain! Especially with the 5 cent find :)
